Chanel Spring 2010 Le Vernis

It's no secret that I am a complete lover of all that is Chanel. From the nail polishes to the earrings and jewelry all the way to the handbags, I am a Chanel devotee who is slowly building a collection. Well while doing some last minute Christmas shopping yesterday I could not believe my eyes...the spring 2010 makeup collection was on display. Now I've seen the collection online and in my mags and I was told it wasn't going to launch until January of the new year. However, there it was right before my eyes and there was the nail polish I have been dying to get called Particuliere. This color was first spotted on the models walking down the catwalk for the Chanel Spring runway show and it"s been a buzz ever since. Leave it to Chanel to take taupe and make it new again for nails.

AHHH

I cannot believe it is December 16th already. I literally feel like I just said Happy Thanksgiving. I have been MIA for a while, I actually had a minor surgery but I'm all good now. The real topic at hand is Christmas shopping!! I actually think I am finished save for a few minor stocking stuffers. My boys are Lego obsessed boys. Specifically Star Wars Legos. It's insane, an what's also insane is the price tag on those bad boys. Now you know I am all about the coupon code and finding the deals but I have to say when it comes to this time of year and shopping for toys, I actually have to take into account my tolerance for long lines and crazy people. I must say my tolerance is pretty non existent! That being said I did most of their shopping on Amazon. AAH Amazon, no lines and literally every toy in the world. Sometimes their prices are even cheaper but usually they are about the same. They get you with their free super saving shipping. Somehow I NEVER qualify for that. No matter how much I have in my cart I never do. What is really comical is that today I placed a small order of last minute things, and when I say small I mean small. The order was only 3 things and voila!! Today i qualified for the free shipping, but wouldn't you know since I need it for Christmas I had to pay anyway!! HA now that's a laugh. Hopefully most of you are almost done with your shopping as well. All of this busyness is catching up to me. I have been so tired lately. It will all be worth it when my boys open up their presents. My mom is OOC when it comes to my boys. She really out does herself but being that they are her only grandchildren I am not about to complain! As for my wish list, I am still waiting on Santa for the Lexus wrapped in a red bow! lol What about you? Would love to hear what's on your wish list.

Gorgeous Skin

Okay so most of you have seen the link I have on the bottom of this site www.marykay.com/christinafrancis. I am an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay. I didn't become one until I used the products for 6 mths and realized I was never happier with my skin. See I am a self professed beauty junkie. Sephora, Ulta, & Dept. store cosmetics counters all know me by name. lol I was a hopper from every latest and greatest product to the next. From clinical to natural skincare you name it I've tried it. Sooo when someone offered me to try Mary Kay naturally I was like huh? No way.. I mean if Sephora doesn't sell it or Spalook.com doesn't carry it it can't be good. I mean isn't Mary Kay all about pink Cadillac's? Anyhow I ultimately gave in and decided to try it. At the time I was not liking my skin after trying Guerlain's Orchidee line. The line is way too heavy for sensitive skin in my opinion. Yes did I mention I have sensitive skin..I do and am always weary of the effects of new products. Well the Timewise Miracle set knocked my socks off, and a couple of lines in the process. The cleanser which contains tiny exfoliators leaves skin feeling so refreshed and clean yet not tight and dry, the day solution with sunscreen is a must as a protective barrier against the elements, and lastly the moisturizer is the perfect finishing touch. Everyone is always in search for the perfect foundation but if the skin underneath isn't in it's optimal state it won't matter if you put liquid gold on your face. But don't take it from me!! visit the site to get reacquainted with a company that has stood the test of time and evolved to bring you the best in skin care at the best price. Oh but beware no fancy shmancy packaging here. The simple designs of the products are a major factor in keeping the cost down. I'd rather have my money going to the product, not the packaging anyway. So this holiday season visit:
www.marykay.com/christinafrancis and give the gift of beautiful skin to you or someone you love!

Helllooo There

Well hello! Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving! I did but no sooner than it was over are we already rushing around for christmas. I love Christmas. The songs, decorations, and most of all the celebration of my savior! AHH what a wonderful time of the year. I love giving gifts and this year the sales are incredible. There are truly so many wonderful choices that are affordable. If you haven't signed up to the sample sale websites you must. Giltgroupe.com, hautelook.com, beyondtherack.com, ruelala.com are some of my faves. In order to really score on any of these sites you need to know when each sale will start. Seriously sometimes things are gone in seconds but you can score some great designer items for unbelievable prices. Another way to save is via the coupon code. Do not I repeat do not buy anything online until you have thoroughly searched for a coupon code for that site. Grechenscodes.com has the latest and most up to date as well as exclusive codes for all things fashion. That includes clothing, jewelry, even home. Her main site grechenscloset.com features in depth reviews of bags, clothing etc. Another great site for coupon codes is retailmenot.com. This is a uber site for any coupon code imaginable. So whatever you are looking for this Christmas don't wait on terribly long lines with lackluster customer service!! Stay home and shop online and save with the amazing discounts. If you do find an amazing deal be sure to post a comment.

Thanksgiving Eve

Well it's Thanksgiving Eve..boy how times have changed. years ago i'd be resting right now before a big night out! I had some really great times..but I must say that they are pale in comparison to the fulfillment that I have with my family. Just being home with them is a blessing in itself. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it isn't about the gifts although I'd be lying if I said I don't love me some presents! The reality is that we can all get caught up with the materialism of Christmas but Thanksgiving is different..it is a time that most people ponder on the blessings in their life. I call them blessings because I know they come from God. Well just put the kiddies to bed. They are so excited for tomorrow. They love their family time! Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving! Let the holiday season begin!xxoo

PS
Black friday is sure to have some amazing sales but no need to get up and out at 4am! One of my favorite sites is Grechenscloset.com she is the online coupon code queen!! If there's a sale code to be had for online shopping, she will have it, as well as some exclusive giveaways! So check her out and if you don't know now you know!!

So I am soo happy I pushed myself to go to kickboxing today..I had an awesome workout and since Thursday is Thanksgiving and the dojo will be closed I needed to kick butt today! When I got back home I was so happy to see a FedEx box outside of my door. My new Chanel nail polish arrived! Trapeze..I tried it in the store and loved it but for some reason didn't buy it. Boy do I hate when I do that. It wasn't long after that I had to order it online. Ladies it is such a beautiful neutral color. A taupey frost that is soo flattering and perfect for all of your holiday outfits. I am obsessed with Chanel polishes. At $23 I know it is an expensive indulgence for the nails but since I do them myself I say it's worth it. Don't get me wrong, I haven't abandoned my OPI's , Essie's , or Zoya's..there is just something about the way Chanel polishes go on and last that I love, and the colors always have something special about them. take Jade for example..yes there are many other light green shades available but if you were actually able to get your hands on the real Jade, you know what I'm talking about. Ok so I will post some pics of Trapeze later so you can all see what a beautiful color it is. Lot's to do before Thanksgiving!

Janet Jackson AMA Awards HD American Music Awards 2009 Live Performance

One of my fave performances of last night!

American Music Awards

Well last night I was able to catch some of the AMA's. While they haven't peeked my interest in recent years, I was especially tuning in to catch Janet Jackson's opening performance. She was amazing. I was really devastated by the sudden death of MJ and to me she is the only other member of the Jackson family that can do him proud. Her medley of greatest hits brought back so many memories and she is a true icon in her own right. Another one of my fave performances was that of Whitney Houston. The raw emotion he displayed was a true blessing. Her humility and gratitude toward God for keeping her in her darkest hour was touching to say the least. But I cannot end this post without mentioning JLO, or Adam Lambert for that matter. I guess it was a slippery stage because both of them had slip ups. It wouldn't have been so bad except JLo was singing about being in her Louboutin's and fell while she was in her kicks!! I usually enjoy her performances but this one left much to be desired. On to Adam...Adam , what can I say..I mean after his extreme theatrics on Idol there isn't much left. To be honest the AMA stage in my opinion swallowed him up. the slip on the stairs didn't help either. He has amazing vocal capability but I think all of the dancing took away from his voice. Another note worthy performance was Mary J's . She looks amazing, even better than she did back in the day. Keep doing what your doing Mary because it's definitely working. From a fashion stand point I wont get too much into best dressed and what nots but I will say that Rihanna hit a high note for me in her white cut out jump suit. She manages to pull it off and I don't know of many that could. Lady Gaga needs to hang up the leotard and get an actual outfit! well that's my take on the AMA's. I must be off now, get my kiddies ready for school!

So excited to have created this blog. Writing has always been a passion of mine and being a full time homemaker I find myself pondering on the coulda woulda shoulda's of my life. Don't get me wrong being home with my kids full time is what I want to be doing, but I would be lying if I said there weren't times and usually those are the bad days lol that I imagine myself at work or writing full time. Actually I am under the weather. I went to the doc yesterday and I am now on the zpack so I should be better soon. Spending the entire day home can sometimes drive me crazy but today has been great. My boys were playing with their legos and I decided to start my blog! So welcome..I hope you enjoy my posts, they will usually cover what is going on in my life as well as my latest fashion and beauty obsessions!
